Spring practice & Recruitment seminar
Greetings to all San Clemente Football Players:
1. Spring practice is right around the corner - mandatory try out workouts start on May 16 after school every day until June 10th. Attendance is mandatory.
2. Updates on coaching changes:
a. Sadly, Coach Bob Cunningham will no longer coach the freshman defensive backs. Coach Bob was the father of two great Triton football players and a long time freshman assistant. We wish Bob the best of luck in his future endeavors.
b. Coach Ben Villa will move from the freshman ranks to the varsity as a Scout Team Coach, helping the varsity team prepare each week for the upcoming opponent.
c. Coach Warren Michaelis will move from the freshman squad to the sophomore football staff where he will coach the offensive line with returning sophomore assistant Don Douglass.
d. The San Clemente staff is proud to announce the addition of Dan Lowry as a varsity assistant in charge of defensive lineman. He will be assisted by long time varsity kicking coach Chris Culbertson.
There may be other minor changes as we get nearer to spring practice but the staff is now complete.
3. The San Clemente High School football program will present its Eighth Annual College Football Recruiting Seminar. This informational meeting is for anyone who is interested in playing football after high school. The earlier that a player starts working on this process the better is the outcome. The meeting is primarily for current juniors who will be seniors in the fall of 2011.
The program will include a discussion of the recruiting process by Coach Patton, who will outline the roll of the head coach and the football program at San Clemente in the recruiting process and the roll of the player and parent. The evening will also include a discussion by Coach Eric Hansen regarding opportunities to play at various levels of college football, and testimonials by players who have recently gone through the process.
The Eighth Annual College Football Recruiting Seminar will be held at:
Room P-0
(Coach Patton's room next to the auxiliary gym)
Thursday, April 28
6:30 pm to 8:00 pm
All players and parents who are interested in playing college football at all levels are invited.
No cost
There will be no make up meeting - this is it!
This meeting is mandatory to make the recruiting effort efficient and productive.
Eric Patton, Ed.D.
Head Football Coach
San Clemente High School
